Dear Alum&Advisor: Wow! You didn't mince words! I'm impressed! We need MORE like yourself, to stand & deliver! Thank you for your anti-hazing support! Incidentally, I too have read that hazing is strongly associated with low self-esteem. You can find this on many anti-hazing websites, & in books on the subject. So, parents ... if your kids want to be hazed, are willing to endure hazing, are hazers ... you might consider the information. Low self-esteem isn't something that anyone, male or female, should go through life with. IP: Logged |

Been Mom "So, parents ... if your kids want to be hazed, are willing to endure hazing, are hazers ... you might consider the information. Low self-esteem isn't something that anyone, male or female, should go through life with." THANK-YOU!!! We agree on that. Not only that parents need to take a more active role in their children. My mother wouldn't allow me to pledge until I was a junior in college if she was going to pay the fees., I didn't understand then, but that was to allow me to mature and make a more sound decision. I was a very different person at 21 as a Junior than at 18 as a Freshman. It is amazing how parents don't know what their child is doing while in college?? As my mother told me, "I will know what you are doing, becasue you are spending my money getting that education" IP: Logged |
